This guide to the life and writing of Moses Maimonides has been written for the NSW HSC Studies of Religion course. It assumes little knowledge of medieval history or philosophy, and takes students through the importance of Maimonides' thinking and writing to the Jewish tradition. Three essay questions are provided at the end, and there are helpful explanatory pages for terms like 'gloss', 'dhimmi' and the levels of authority of the rabbonim.
